Life is too busy

I have always felt like Life is Too busy, but it has just been recently that I have realized that it is up to me to change that!

I read this "mini book" and found a lot of truth in it. It outlines that the problem isn't a shortage of time, but that our priorities are out of whack. We seldom make time for the important things in life, because we are dealing with the urgent tasks.

In the book Charles E. Hummel outlines some of the specific things you can do to escape the "tyranny of the urgent":
  • "Wait for instructions" (remembering to pray & listen daily)
  • "Decide what's important"
  • "Discover where your time goes" (Account where your hours are currently spent)
  • "Budget the Hours" (schedule the important things into your day slowly)
It also talks about taking "spiritual inventory" by reflecting/writing about the past & present lessons God may be teaching you, and planning for the up coming week.

That is just an over view, but I recommend reading the entire mini-book (if you can find the time...haha!) it only takes about 20 minutes!

Overall I am thankful for the reminder to slow down, and focus on what is important in life.
